This is me

A mix of Jersey girl, Canadian and West Coast, USA. Youth researcher by trade (I received my Piled-Higher-and-Deeper in 1998), my passions there focus on sexuality education, healthy relationships, and mental health. I love gummy candies, karaoke, and wombats. I used to prefer vodka martinis, but I have been converted: dirty gin with a touch of vermouth.

One part of my identity I will share on this blog is that of world traveler. I rented out my house for a year starting August 1, 2013. I’ve so far visited the Midwest (New Mexico and Colorado primarily), Toronto, New Zealand (both islands), Australia, and South Korea. I am doing my best to spend a significant amount of time in all the places I visit. I prefer to settle into a place rather than simply be a tourist.

The other part of me that will most certainly bubble through is that of an over-educated privileged white woman going through her midlife crisis. So, in addition to the external journeys I am taking, I may also share some internal ones as well.

I know where I am, but I have no idea where I’m going.

  1. I don’t remotely expect you to play along – but I love your stories on fb and I always read your posts, even if I don’t always comment. I love love LOVE living vicariously through you, and wonder if there will ever be a day when Jason and I can leave it behind for a year and go somewhere…else. The furbabies say no… I gave you a shout out on my blog for what it’s worth. A little award. For being you, for blogging, for sharing the world with me. And you are absolutely not required to reciprocate – I just wanted to let you know. http://putadateonit.com/2014/11/24/awards-shit-i-need-to-be-more-involved/
